Chinese, 18th century. Chinese Export Famille rose porcelain teapot decorated in the Mandarin pattern, the lid decorated with precious objects, iron red cartouches containing blossoms and gilt finial, the body painted with figures and attendants drinking tea amidst precious objects, same decoration to verso. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 5.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Henry G. Muecke Jr., Atlanta, Georgia.
Light wear to gilt throughout. Bottom edge of circular foot with minor scattered nicks and chips--not noticeable when sitting upright. Small hairline fracture visible on interior of spout. Adhesive residue in scattered areas on exterior of teapot (primarily near handle) would likely benefit from professional cleaning. Minor scattered glazing imperfections. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
