Chinese late 19th/early 20th century. A black lacquered and painted decorated tilt top table, the circular top having a polychrome landscape scene featuring cranes amidst flowering peony, prunus trees and rockwork within a gilt heightening scrolling foliate border and raised on a turned standard and tripartite base terminating on three feet. Approximate height with top down 45.5", height with top latched 31.12", diameter of top 33".
Structurally sound. Overall very good condition. There is a 5" crack with loss on the rim/edge of top (possibly from repeated contact with standard when tilted- see image #6) with two vertical cracks directly above with minor lifting. Some minor cracking on top; not distracting. There is slight cracking with rippling to base (see images #7, #8). Minor chips to feet as would be expected with contact to surface, age and usage. Tilting latch is in working condition (see image #10).
