- Lot Description
Chinese, early 20th century. A crystal or white jade cherry tree, having small carved leaves and flowers, each inset with white glass beads, with thread wrapped wire branches, set into a rectangular brass container decorated with incised foliated decoration with beige glass beads at the base, all set into a yellow porcelain planter with white floral decoration. Brass container marked "CHINA" to underside, porcelain container with a dynastic mark to underside. Approximate height 12.75", width 11.5", depth 3.625". Provenance: From the Private Collection of the Owner of Chelsea House.
Condition
Areas of some minor chipping, loses, and bruising to several leaves and flowers. Losses to the "soil". Some wire steams of flowers have come unwrapped. Tree truck has some cracking and loses. Areas of tarnish and residue on brass planter. Some chipping and enamel losses to yellow pot. Firing crack to interior with some accretions. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
