Chinese, 19th century possibly earlier. A bronze mounted Chinese export cloisonne center bowl with central medallion decorated with standing red foo dog having full green mane and tail and prunus fruit resting on pedestal atop his back surrounded by geometric symbols, the fu dog being on a white scale ground. Side walls with various underwater creatures, including fish, lobster, shrimp, and crabs, above layered bands of stylized waves, and decoration on flat lip of bowl 4 five clawed dragons surrounded by cloud scrolls. Elaborate decoration to underside of bowl consisting of lotus blossoms surrounding a medallion with two crossed flags (possibly a maker's mark), and galloping horses above stylized waves and coral. Approximately 20 1/8" x 4 5/8" tall.
Bowl has loss of enamels, a couple of exposed wires and signs of pitting. Solder mark to the underside rim. Scattered minor oxidation to surface of enamels.
