Continental, probably Italian, 20th century. A Chinese Chippendale style carved giltwood mirror, the oval frame surmounted with pagoda form cresting supported on rocaille pierced scrolls, the sides carved with ho-ho birds and pierced rocaille ornament, the base similarly decorated. Approximate height 52", width 35".
Structurally sound. Scattered minor chips with loss, not distracting. There is a split with separation at top center of frame (see image #3 and image #8). Minor warping to backside 'cover' of mirror plate. There are four breaks with glue repairs to right side of mirror reactive to ultravoilet light.
