Likely Asian, 20th century. Celadon green glazed pottery figural jug, pitcher or ewer with thick twisted handle on back of shaped body incised with lines connoting fur and whiskers above four paw feet, opening to vessel depicted as mythical figure's open mouth, face with rounded nose above, round eyes, exposed teeth and pointed corners of mouth, possibly a depiction of a stylized guardian lion or foo dog, overall in Jin Dynasty, Yue kiln style or manner. Unmarked. Overall approximate height 7.125", width 12.5", depth 5.75".
Glaze overall exhibiting crazing or cracquelure, with drips of glaze extending down unglazed portion of belly underside. Underside of chest with round area of loss. One small chip to mouth of jug. Overall with scattered minor glaze and potting imperfections - not distracting.
