Chinese, Qing Dynasty, late 19th/early 20th century. Chinese blue and white porcelain fish bowl decorated to the exterior with a continuous scene boldly painted with rockwork amidst peony, chrysanthemum and prunus,with two large phoenix, each holding lingzhi in mouth, another phoenix partially hidden by foliage, a multitude of small birds flying amongst trees and ducks swimming in a pond with lotus and a pair of cranes standing on a rocky craig. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 14.5", diameter of mouth 16".
Overall very good condition. Minor glazing imperfections. Firing holes are present. Wear to the foot commensurate with age and contact with surface. No damage or repairs noted.
