Chinese, likely late 19th/early 20th century. Blue and white porcelain lidded or covered baluster form jar with rounded finial on domed lid with stylized pine tree motif surrounded by meandering spiral key border above body with scholars and child surrounding table in outdoor setting with stylized pine trees and clouds. Unmarked. Overall approximate height 17.6", diameter of bottom 8.25".
Dirt and grime throughout; particularly clinging to minor surface abrasions and under-glaze pitting. Lid with surface abrasions to finial. Lid with scattered discolorations to glaze. Underside of lid with wear. Body with scattered pitting under glaze and brown-hued discolorations. With minor glaze loss to shoulder, not particularly distracting. Small loss to porcelain at rim, concealed by lid. Radial wear to rim and foot. Underside of foot with wear commensurate with use also with small chip.
