Chamberlain (English (Worcester), founded 1783-), circa early 19th century. A fine porcelain egg cruet set in six pieces in the "Dragon in Compartments" pattern comprising a round plateau with five inset and separable egg cups, each piece raised on a ring foot and finely hand painted with an Orientalist motif in tones of red, green, blue, and pink to a white ground with traditional Chinese motif of fu dogs, dragons, peony blossoms, diaper patterning, and floral scrolls. Apparently unmarked. Stand approximate height 1.75", diameter 7.5". Each cup approximate height 1.5", diameter 1.875". Overall height 2.25". Note: Chamberlain merged with Flight, Barr & Barr in 1840. A similar pattern to this is often attributed as Bengal Tiger.
One egg cup with underside foot that does not match the others and likely later; same cup with chip to mid section gilt rim. Scattered gilt and paint loss with wear to underside foot commensurate with age and usage.
