Russian, Circa 1880. Cast iron sculpture entitled 'Leo Tolstoy Pulling a Plough' depicting Tolstoy following behind a horse drawn plough on a naturalistic base, attributed to Anna Solovieva (19th C - Russian Federation). Marked to the underside in Cyrillic, along with Kasli foundry mark and with Russian Imperial Eagle. Measures approximately 10" x 8" x 20".
Covered in rust patina commensurate with age. This piece is articulated or has jointed segments that attach the poles from harness to the hands. The segments have become loose over time but easily fit back into the hand and pole. Photographed as is. Very good condition.
