- Lot Description
Continental, circa 1900s. Cast iron covered garden urn having a pineapple finial and foliate lid over a laurel leaf molded neck and baluster form body mounted to the shoulder with satyr or Bacchus mask and united by draping berried laurel swags on a turned socle and plinth base. Height 30", width 17".
Condition
Scattered chips to paint. Areas of possible overpainting--evidence of paint drips. Flaw in image 8 is simply a sticker & can be removed. Scattered dings & chips to iron, commensurate with age & usage. Draping garland joining the masks is loose to one side. Areas of oxidation to base.
