Cartier (French, founded 1847). A serie limitee platinum finish letter opener with clock handle, #1682/2000, the knife of traditional form with wide and smooth blade with functioning clock as handle, similar to the La Dona model of wristwatch, with silver satin finish enamel face bearing Roman Numeral dial and black hands. Letter opener contained in original black felt sleeve and fitted presentation case in signature red leather emblazoned to interior lid with "Cartier". Also accompanied with certificate of authenticity, manual, and original paper box bearing style number T1220163 and matching edition number below "Coupe-Papier Avec Montre Finition Platine". Marked to clock face "Cartier". Marked to verso of handle "No 1682/2000" above "Swiss made", and "Cartier" to hilt of blade. Approximate length 9". Note: original retail price of $3,000.
Overall very good condition. Cover over clock face is slightly loose. Very minor surface scratches observed under loop; not obvious. Clock does not appear to be keeping accurate time.
