- Lot Description
Sergio Bustamante (Mexican, b. 1942- ). "Elephant", brass and copper, edition 24/100, signed and numbered on right ear. A naturalistic brass wall mounted sculptural bust of an elephant depicting the animal with long trunk extending down and curling backward at the tip between small tusks and below copper and inlaid black glass eyes, the whole constructed of thin patchwork brass sheets. Overall approximately 30.25" tall, 16" wide, 15.5" deep.
Condition
A few scattered dings to a few panels, some minor separation to some panels, particularly on back. Three panels on trunk bent with crunched and oxidized seams Minor scattered oxidation to patina throughout, not particularly distracting. No visible losses or splits to panels. No holes to panels. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
