Budd Hopkins (American, b. 1931-), "Untitled", likely late 1970s, oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Modern geometric painting composed of five rectangular canvases of varying size and with linear compositions in white, black, grey, yellow, and red (palette similar to Piet Mondrian) joined together to form box with open center. Overall measures approximately 56.5" x 49.3" . Minimal artwork accompanied with two gallery exhibition advertisements for the artist's work including a paper mailer for "Budd Hopkins", Linder Gallery, La Plume Pennsylvania September 29-November 10, 1985; and a color gallery invitation card from Lerner-Heller, New York for "Budd Hopkins: Hera's Wall", April 29-May 31, 1978.
Painting overall with surface grime and dirt - may benefit from professional cleaning. Under blacklight examination, no evidence of in painting or repairs. Each panel with abrasions, wear, and minor losses to corners, sides, and tops. Interior yellow planes both with evidence of mold. Long panel with red interior plane exhibiting minor canvas sagging to length of panel.
