Wilhelm Kralik Sohne (Bohemian, 1815 - 1940), 19th century. An Art Nouveau Bacillus art glass inkwell with circular glass knob top and hinged metal lid and collar, the body with four rounded and exaggerated shoulders, the whole covered in gold spotting with purple or violet iridescence, called in German "Stäbchensplitter," bacillus-rod splinters. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 4.5".
Overall good condition. Some oxidation to hinged metal lid and collar. There appears to be a bubble at the surface which can be felt with a fingertip. Does not appear to be a chip but is sharp to the touch (see image #3).
