Landscape with figures painting depicting a man standing with two spotted cows on a grassy bank of a shallow stream beside a small wooden rowboat, green pasture fields and small rustic footbridge above river or stream right of center, view in the distance of other grazing animals, landscape and country architecture. Landscape with low horizon line with cloudy sky. Framed approximately 29.5" x 37.5". Unframed approximately 20" x 28".
Painting has not been relined. Light scattered craquelure with circular impact craquelure in clouds left of center. Oxidation to verso of canvas and stretcher. Under black light, no signs of in-painting or retouches. Light greenish hue from earlier varnish coat. Painting may brighten slightly from light professional cleaning. No signs of rips, tears, holes or water damage.
