- Lot Description
Continental, 18th century. A fine Baroque style walnut carved console or pier table having a serpentine shaped top with projecting square ears over a deep conforming apron floral carved and pierced with drapery and central cartouche within leafy surround raised on a cabriole legs carved at the knee with leafy cabochon and terminating on ball and claw feet. Approximate height 32", width 38.63", depth 25".
Condition
Condition commensurate with age and use. Some worming, especially to feet. Some older scratching and denting, which has darkened with age and gives an antiques patina. Some old cracking to front left knee that as been filled, with some lighter spots of newer epoxy. Typical surface wear to top, with some scratching and abrasions. Some scratching and losses to feet, including the part of the ball of the back right claw and ball foot. Scratch to front left leg, approximately 2" long. Some minor shrinkage and resulting seam separation. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
