- Lot Description
Andy Warhol (American, 1928-1987), "Marilyn"-1981 offset lithograph on paper for Castelli Graphics invitation, published in 1981, signed in black at right. Pop Art work depicting the iconic celebrity Marilyn Monroe in shades of white, pink and black. This work is from the unknown edition size published by Colour Editions, Inc. This invitation was created for the exhibition: "Andy Warhol: A Print Retrospective 1963-1981" held at Castelli Graphics, New York, 21 November - 22 December 1981. Sight size approximately 11.75" square.
Condition
Work examined out of frame. Please see additional photographs for images of verso of work. Light handling wear to corners. Light even toning to sheet commensurate with age. No signed of rips, tears or holes. Scattered light minor staining on back, likely from handling. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
