William Clark Noble (American, 1858-1938). "Locked on Point"-1905, patinated bronze sculpture, signed and dated, "NOBLE 1905". Animal sculpture depicting a naturalistically rendered hunting or sporting dog with muscular body, pointed paw and alert straight tail on an integral rectangular base. Underside stamped with "G24". Overall approximate height 5.125", width 8.5", depth 2.5".
Minor grime to surface, particularly base; may benefit from light professional cleaning. Extremely minor pitting noted at ears and hips of dog. Minor oxidation to underside of dog’s legs and to top of base, not distracting. Underside of base with surface scratches and abrasions commensurate with use and age.
