Likely American, 19th century. A walnut four poster bed comprising headboard and footboard, each with large urn and baluster turned finials surmounting octagonal turned posts resting on turned urns over squared legs resting on spool turned feet, the scroll top head board with highly figured walnut grain and cyma curved upper left and right corners and sides, the short footboard also decorated with cyma curved edges, both headboard and footboard with cylindrical short bed rail with joined to legs, both short bed rails with knobs for winding rope, stained oak side rails without knobs (not original). Approximate height 84", width 56", depth 88.25".
Lacking tester & finials. Mortise & tenon structures will need to be reinforced as it is pulling away from posters. Hardware joining headboard and footboard needs to be replaced. Headboard with horizontal professional repair (see image #4). Two turned knobs have been replaced on headboard. Footboard with multiple repairs or patches, specifically where octagonal posters join to lower portion. Oak side rails are not original to piece. Scattered scratches & retouches from furniture pen (visible under black light), commensurate with age & usage.
