- Lot Description
Alfred Barye (French, 1839-1882), "Walking Hound", patinated bronze sculpture, signed on base "A. BARYE F.S.". Animal sporting sculpture depicting a hound dog with long ears and alert upturned ail walking on a naturalistic base with chamfered corners. Dog pointing paw and looking up in same direction. Overall approximate height 7.125", width 11.125", depth 3.25".
Condition
Minor grime and residual white polish or powder to surface; may benefit from light professional cleaning. Handling wear to protruding elements. Extremely minor scattered pitting noted. Minor surface scratches to base commensurate with age and use. Underside of base with surface scratches and abrasions commensurate with handling, and corrosion to bolts.
