- Lot Description
Alexander Nasmyth (British, 1758-1840). "Mountain Loch Vista", oil on canvas, signed lower right "A Nasmyth". Well painted naturalistic landscape painting revealing a view on a loch set before tall mountains and ridges to right and background, likely a view of the Black Cuillin across Loch Scavaig in Scotland, with a large boulder resting on the right bank of the waterway with a figure in red looking down from it onto the rushing water. Framed approximately 32.75" x 42.5". Unframed approximately 26.625" x 36".
