Figural commemorative horse painting depicting a dark brown horse with black bob cut tail in a stable with straw and hay ground, riding blanket draped on side with gold "W". Center noting horse's achievement reading "WENTWORTH" above "WINNER OF THE QUEEN'S PREMIUM £150, 1898". Framed approximately 25" x 29.25". Unframed approximately 20" x 24.125". Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Helen Ballard, Atlanta, Georgia.
Painting has been relined. Little signs of inpainting visible under black light examination. Scattered craquelure however paint layer appears to be stable. No signs of rips, tears or holes.
