After Titian Vecelli (Italian, 1487-1571), “Young Woman with a Fur Coat”-1535, oil on canvas, unsigned. 19th century figural oil painting after the Venetian Old Master’s masterpiece currently housed at the Kunsthistoriches Museum in Vienna, Austria. Formal portrait depicting a beautiful young woman at three-quarter view in demure pose covering her body with exposed breast with a luxurious brown fur coat. Elegant woman adorned jewelry including pearl strands in braided hair, single strand pearl necklace, gold and pearl earrings, a gold and jeweled bracelet bangle and yellow gold and gem ring. Framed approximately 44.5” x 30”. Unframed approximately 39.25” x 25”. Provenance: From the Estate of Sam and Florence Inman, Atlanta, Georgia. Oxidation to verso of canvas and stretcher commensurate with age. Painting not relined. Under black light examination, minor abrasions to surface with inpainting at lower right below elbow, lower left of center, between figure's wrists, on figure's headband, on chest above left hand. Scattered minor inpaintings to background and clothing. Hazy green hue indicative of older varnish layer. Paint layer stable with no further apparent abrasions, rips, tears, or losses.
