- Lot Description
After Salvador Dali (Spanish,1904-1989). "Space Elephant from the Temptation of St. Anthony", gilt bronze sculpture, incised on base "Dali". Surrealist figural sculpture depicting a stylized elephant with elongated thin legs with a tapered pyramid form on back with graduated circular motif on exterior. Elephant with upturned trunk and saddle on back, on an oval integral base further supported on a black stone rectangular plinth. Overall approximate height 21.25", width 6", depth 4.25".
Condition
Scattered nicks and chips to base, particularly on edges and corners. Light wear to gilt patina commensurate with age and light handling. No signs of missing elements, dents, dings or repair to sculpture.
