English, 19th century. Adams style shield back settee with frame decorated in hand painted polychrome florals, beading, bellflowers, and peacock feathers on deep red to brown ground. Settee with tapered arms leading to undulating apron with leaved ribboned spray ornament, seat upholstered in silver and brown striped silk fabric, overall supported on six square tapered legs with peacock feather motif. Overall approximate height 39.25", width 60.25", depth 18.5".
Structurally sound. Small areas of repairs with patches, not distracting. Some areas with rubbing to finish, minor chipping. Central front leg with repair and brace added for support. Back seatrail with small split. Fabric is tight to frame with no rips, tears or odors noted.
