A very scarce 1971 Gretsch Super Chet semi-hollow body electric guitar, serial #113137, with cherry red finish, mahogany top, sides, and neck, dual Florentine cutaways, Abalone floret pattern fret markers and decoration on headstock and bridge, Abalone inlay on headstock "Gretsch", and gilt inscription on black guard "Gretsch Super Chet", that name referring to Gretsch's partnership with Chet Atkins. Inscription on back of headstock "Made in U.S.A. 113137". Approximately 43" long. Guitar is accompanied by a locking hard case with custom molded blue faux fur interior with lidded compartment below neck of guitar, with original key.
Appraised by Atlanta Vintage Guitars of Woodstock, Georgia. Overall 9.2/10 score. Special electronics. Otherwise all parts appear to be original. New strings 2/4/15. Appears to be in good working condition.
