American, 3rd quarter 20th century. 1968 Gibson Barney Kessel Cherry Sunburst Hollow Body Regular Electric Guitar, serial #950120, signed by Ringo Starr beside left cutaway "Ringo 03". With with spruce top, maple back and sides, two Florentine cutaways, mother of pearl double parallelogram fret markers on a likely mahogany neck, double-cut archtop, nickel hardware, and Barney Kessel signature plaques mounted on headstock and bridge. Impressed mark on back of headstock with serial number and "Made in U.S.A.". Gibson Label from Kalamazoo, Michigan on interior of left cutaway. Appears to be in working condition. Guitar accompanied by two framed presentations of souveniers, comprising of a framed presentation of t-shirt from "Ringo Starr + His All-Starr Band" tour in 2003 along with meet & greet photo of the musician flanked by fans, one of whom holds the guitar included in this lot, with three small photographs of Ringo and The Beatles are mounted above the t-shirt, two of which are signed by Starr, 40" x 10.5"; and a pair of tickets from the concert framed below a meet and greet photo of a male and female flanking Starr, the man holding the guitar included in this lot, 16.75" x 18.25".
Appraised by Atlanta Vintage Guitars of Woodstock, Georgia. Overall 9.2/10 score. All original parts. New strings 2/4/15. Appears to be in good working condition.
