• Lot Description
  George W. Shiebler (American, 1876-1910), circa 1890s. A sixty-three piece sterling silver flatware set in the "Sandringham" pattern comprising five dinner forks (8.12"), 17 luncheon forks (7.25"), twenty-two teaspoons (6"), eight dessert spoons (7"), six serving or tablespoons (8.25"), one round soup spoon (7"), one sugar cube tong (4"), one large berry serving spoon with chased gilt/gold wash bowl (7.75"), one berry serving spoon with chased gilt/gold wash bowl ( 6"), one large slotted serving spoon (9.62). The majority of pieces monogrammed on handles, the backs with Schiebler hallmarks, "Ich Dien" which means "I Serve" the motto of the Prince of Wales, marked Sterling in between the motto. SIx of the luncheon forks engraved on the back "Eleanor". Seven of the luncheon forks engraved on the back "Ross". Six dessert spoons engraved "Sheldon" to the back. Six serving spoons engraved "Sheldon" to the back. Seven teaspoons engraved "Ross" to the back and ten engraved "Sheldon" to the back. Overall approximate weight 89.36 troy ounces. Provenance: Property from the Estate of a Gentleman in Macon, Georgia.
