Sitzendorf (German, founded 1760). Set of four mid-19th century (circa 1850) hand painted and gilt accented porcelain figurines of women representing four Classical mythological goddesses including Juno/Hera, Ceres/Demeter, Venus/Aprhodite, and Athena/Pallas, all with blue Sitzendorf mark on bottom. Athena approximate height 7.9", width 4", depth 3.5".
Demeter: fracture repair to foot where meets lion. Hera: loss to thumb on hand, loss to index toe, fracture repair to yellow drape at back. Athenae: repair to right side of head and back of neck, loss to tip of green feather on cap, loss to index finger. Venus: broken pinky, remnant of missing object in hand, gilt remnant on leg. All with wear to gilt. All with wear to bottoms commensurate with age and shelf use. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
