- Lot Description
Chinese, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A group of two Chinese Export footed porcelain trays of cloud form painted in famille rose enamels, each comprising a tall ovular ring foot banded with blue stylized waves and iron red lining, the exterior body cavetto with auspicious bats and prunus fruit, and the top surface with band of pink, white, and orange peony flowers on green leafy stems surrounding a central figural scene - one with a young and elder courtly figure seated around a games table in a landscape, and the other with a single male religious elder seated on a platform supported by clouds flanking five lines of black calligraphic marks. Dish with single figure bearing hand etched patterning to top surface, possibly a family name or crest, otherwise unmarked. Two figure dish approximate height 2", width 9", depth 6.125". Single figure dish approximate height 2.375", width 9.375", depth 6.5".
