Wilhelm Kralik Sohne (Bohemian, 1815-1940), late 19th/early 20th century. Two complimentary Art Nouveau art glass inkwells comprising a green iridescent, low circular form with swirled or pulled feather design and hinged bronze lion mask cover and collar with glass insert. The interior of lid stamped D.E.P. and D.R.G.M (illegible numbers); the other a Bacillus art glass inkwell with leafy bronze hinged lid and collar over a ball shaped body with a strong violet to blue iridescence on gold. Both inkwells apparently unmarked. Approximate height of green inkwell 2.3", diameter 5.25". Approximate height of bacillus inkwell 2.6", diameter 3".
Green iridescent inkwell glass liner has a small chip to rim. Hinged lid opens and shuts with ease. No chips, cracks or repairs noted. The Bacillus inkwell is missing the glass liner. The lid is missing one pin to the right side of hinge. Lid still opens and shuts smoothly. Interior of lid shows rusting and oxidation. Both inkwells have wear to the base commensurate with age and contact with surface. No chips, cracks or repairs noted.
