Japanese, late 19th century. An Imari rectangular porcelain plate with boxed inset dish that is decorated in cobalt blue underglazing on a white ground with a scene of traditional architecture and landscape, upper rim is decorated in blue and rust with floriform and foliate designs that are highlighted with gilt decoration. Marked on back. 10.75" x 12.5" x 1.5".
Two minor barely noticeable flakes to rim. Light dirt and grime on exterior would likely benefit from cleaning. Discoloration and wear to bottom commensurate with age and light shelf use (see photos). No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
