Group of two similar French architectural wooden boiserie wall panels in the Louis XVI taste, 19th century, having floral garlands with trophies, one depicting an architect and his tool, and one with an armillary sphere, books, and painter's palette, both apparently unmarked.
Approximate dimensions: architect h. 37", w. 70.25", d. 1.25"; globe h. 35.75", w. 69.75", d. 1.25".
Provenance: The Collection of Jerome and Bridget Dobson, Atlanta, GA.
Scattered cracks and losses, pleasing distressed finish, evidence of previous worming (inactive), later outer moulding, panels are structurally sound.
