French, 19th century. Louis XVI style giltwood carved & upholstered settee, the rectangular back with entrelac carved frame to downswept arms with padded elbow rests, the bowfront seatrail similarly carved and raised on 6 turned, tapered and fluted legs headed with patera blocks. Height 40", width 59" (arm to arm), seat depth 22", seat height 15".
Structurally sound. Damage and repair with existing cracks at stile near arm. Separation of joints with old glue residue. Old repair to front center leg, needs tightening. Wear to gilt, chips and other imperfections commensurate with age and usage. Fabric is worn with fading and some ticking and pulls to fabric.
