French, 19th century. A French carved and veneered occasional table comprising walnut and walnut veneer, the top with cyma curved edges and astragal form corners comprising of four panels of figured walnut veneer, the lines of the grain of each panel forming a diamond pattern, all framed by figured walnut veneer crossbanding over astragal molding, surmounting the cyma curved skirt with carved and etched decoration comprising a central acanthus motif within a cyma curved cartouche flanked by curved acanthus leaves over an etched diaper pattern ground with relief carved floral medallions and foliate c-scroll acanthus leaves, the sides with conforming etched and carved decoration, the convex corners with high relief floral carving, all raised on four cabriole legs, the knees with high relief carved bellflowers flanked by molded scrolls terminating in scrolled feet surmounted by acanthus leaf carving, all joined by a floral carved x form stretcher with central floral medallion.
