Portrait depicting a young girl at full length standing wearing a blue dress off her shoulders with a deep blue sash to her waist and black shoes to her feet, the girl with short cropped brown hair over large dark eyes holding a stoic expression, the subject wearing drop earrings and a gold choker and holding a doll and closed hand fan in her hands held out before her body. Framed approximately 43.75" x 32.25", unframed approximately 40.5" x 29.25".
Scattered retouches throughout work including to the left side of the girl's face and arms. Scattered speckling to paint layer (perhaps would be eliminated with professional cleaning). No signs of rips, tears or holes. Wear to paint layer on edges from rubbing on frame. Oxidation to canvas and stretcher commensurate with age. Light cracquelure visible in some areas however paint layer appear to be stable without signs of lifting.
