Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 19th century. A bamboo and hardwood tea tray of square form having a bamboo gallery to top, the platform decorated with red lacquer having a floral landscape scene to lower left extending toward upper right with birds to branches and flying, the background decorated in diaper patterning with swastikas, a Buddhist symbol for auspiciousness, and the front of tray with two rectangular drawers with fronts decorated with floral motif with copper leaf form drawer pulls. Unmarked. Approximately 4.625" tall x 14" square.
Numerous cracks to lacquered top, slight separation at edges. Drawers open and close smoothly. Minor wear to underside of feet. Minor pitting, nicks and losses to lacquered fronts. Tray top would likely benefit from cleaning--light remnant of dirt and grime.
