French, 18th century. Carved walnut wood framed fauteuil upholstered in 17th century Flemish tapestry in blue and green tones with garden, fountain, and bird motif throughout. Camel back and arms upholstered and with nail head tacking, arms with leaf and shell decoration, shaped apron with shell at center, acanthus crusted knees and cabriole legs terminating on hoof feet. Approximate height 43.25", width (across seat) 27.25", depth 23.25", seat to floor 15.5".
Structurally sound. No missing nail head tacks. One arm with repair (see image 7). Two legs with damage to "hoof" feet (see image 10), commensurate with age & usage. Areas of significant wear to tapestry, also commensurate with age & usage.
