Continental School (likely French), 18th century. A large and impressively painted two-sided five-panel floor screen or room diveder in the Renaissance style, one side with the three interior panels depicting a naturalistic landscape scene with river at center flanked by a mill structure and two figures on a bank at center surrounded by lush landscape, the two outer panels each with further well painted landscape scenes, each of the three scenes within a painted faux frame with rocaille and acanthine scrolls in crimson red, the back of each panel with a grisaille painted singular medallion of ribbon suspended musical, gardening, or hunting trophies, each panel of rectangular form with shaped crest. Signed to lower right of center landscape scene "peint par Despesches". Height approximately 69.75", width of each panel 25.5", overall width 127".
