- Lot Description
Royal Crown Derby (English, founded 1750). A group of 18 pieces of porcelain dinnerware, including 8 dinner plates with a scalloped border, 7 luncheon plates, 2 dinner plates with a plain rim, and 1 salad plate. Each hand enameled in cobalt blue and red with gilt detailing. Most scalloped dinner plates marked with Robert Bloor mark (ca. 1825-1848), most luncheon plates marked with Derby Crown period marks (ca. 1877-1890), 2 dinner plates marked with Derby Crown marks and 1887 date mark, salad plate with Royal Crown Derby mark and 1911 date mark. Approximate height (of scalloped dinner plate) 1", diameter 9.1".
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. Discoloration - particularly to Bloor Derby plates. Crazing, chips to rims of several, and wear to gilt overall. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
