Style of Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973): Collection of 5 Caricature Sketches, 1953. Set of hand drawn pen sketches on paper, mounted to larger paper. Each drawing is signed, dated and marked "Paris." They are stamped "Kahnweiler Paris" and embossed in the margins with a collectors stamp. These drawings are accompanied by a hand Witten note reporting provenance from 1976, with a second notation from 2014.
17.5 x 11.5 inches each with margins; 11.75 x 7.5 inches paper.
Reported as having been a gift from Comte de la Roche to the current owner; Private collection, Greece.
Condition
Good condition overall; moisture exposure has caused the ink the blead lightly and the paper to ripple in all of the drawings; the paper is lightly toned throughout; each page has observable creases from poor handling; Three of the drawings have a very small hole in the margins.
