- Lot Description
African Tribal Art: Yoruba People, Nigeria. Figure depicting Eshu, the trickster, chief messenger of the creator, which has a tall hairdo and once held two calabashes. Carved wood, 19th Century. The figure is installed on a custom-made wooden plinth.
Provenance: Private Collection, Massachusetts, Private collection, New York
Dimensions: 27.5"H x 10"W x 7"D; 29"H with stand.The figure is severely weathered and has insect damage. Please inspect the photos and videos, which supplement the written description and show the condition of this lot.Condition
