Peter Mars (American, b 1959): Fortress of Power. (The Hulk, Bruce Banner, Avengers, Marvel). Hand-signed Original hand-pulled serigraph/silkscreen with hand made embellishments on archival paper, signed lower right. Verso titled and numbered in pencil embossed stamp verso.
Inspired by wallpaper, candy wrappers, billboards and match packs, this influential American Pop Artist Mars' colorful, quirky artworks disrupt predictable interpretation, and transform the ordinary things we see every day into entirely new experiences that tickle the senses, and delight the child inside. Much of Mars' work reflects the American pop culture of his childhood in the 1960s and 70s, notably the idealized American family, comic book figures, television and space age inventions.
