Norman Fortier, nationally recognized for his maritime photography, was also an accomplished watercolor painter. Known for his charming depictions of boats, people, and places in New England, particularly Padanaram, his watercolors reflected his keen eye for light and composition. His works ranged from vibrant scenes of regattas to serene depictions of local landscapes, reminiscent of Edward Hopper. Fortier's watercolors were often commissioned by friends and fellow sailors, showcasing his artistic versatility and deep connection to the maritime world.
