- Lot Description
Marguerite Stix (Austrian, 1907-1975): Four Sculptures. From left: Ballet, 1960; Harriet 1959; Jamie and Nancy 1962; Woman with Child on her Lap 1959. Three bronze, one plaster. The plaster one (Girl Sitting(Harriet)) is mounted to a wood base. These works are all accompanied by books (The Art of Marguerite Stix, Richard McLanthan; Marguerite Stix, Sculpture, Krasner Gallery; The Estate of Marguerite Stix), documenting their exhibition history.
Marguerite Stix was a sculptor, jeweler, and ceramicist known for her later work with shells.
Ballet 14 inches height; Harriet 9 inches height; Jamie and Nancy 15 inches height; Woman with Child on her Lap 16 inches height.
All are in very good condition. The base of Ballet is slightly bent, causing the sculpture to stand incorrectly; the right bench leg of Jamie and Nancy is broken off the sculpture.Condition
