Jacques Monory was a French painter and filmmaker whose work is an allegory of the contemporary world and the inherent violence in everyday life. In 1986, Monory was chosen to represent France at the 42nd Venice Biennale, and in 2005 he was the featured artist of the World Expo in Seville. His works are held in some of the most prestigious museums in France, including the Pompidou and the Museum of Modern Art, among others.
