Follower of Jeremiah Theus: Gertrude and George, 1740. Federalist-era Oil on canvas set in a hand-carved frame.
37 32 inches framed; 30 x 25 inches canvas.
Sold to Lapham and Dibble Gallery, Sherman, Vermont from a family in Tysen, Vermont who owned the painting for 40 years; Private collection, New England, USA.Condition
Great condition, heavy craquelure has been stabilized with wax lining; minor retouches throughout; small area of paint loss at the lower left edge.
