Angelina Wood (American, 1930-2003): Peony Garden, 1997. Watercolor on cold pressed paper, signed lower right, professionally matted and framed.
Angelina was a well known regional artist in Southern Massachusetts, where she operated an art gallery and art school. Many of her young students went on to attend art colleges, and some of her adult students eventually opened their own galleries in coastal towns. She was a member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, where she was recipient of many accolades , including the Grumbacher Award. Along with her son Bruce co-founded AFA Press, an art printer and publisher in Michigan. Her art was sold nationally by that company. Angelina Wood's paintings are in collections including the Franklin Public Library, Boston Children's Hospital, and numerous other health care facilities. She believed that her are should evoke positive feelings in viewers, and during her lifetime her work was valued for that quality.

Aged condition; horizontal creases running throughout; edges of paper are frayed and tattered; two holes lower left corner, as well as a stray mark (possibly white paint).
