Andrea Tamkin (American, 20th Century): Minimalist Composition. Mixed media with oil crayon on cold pressed paper, unsigned, unframed.
Andrea concentrated in painting at the Museum School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Since 1986 her work has been exhibited in many local galleries such as the Society of Arts and Crafts and the Bernard Toale Gallery, and in the Chuck Levitan Gallery in New York. Her artwork is in private collections and in corporate collections such as the Bank of Boston and The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Whether it be a pet portrait, landscape or still life my observations are captured by responding to color, brush marks on the canvas, building the surface, and working intuitively. Trusting the process in hopes that my individuality, quirkiness and whimsey come through in the art work.
